Sheridan School District
A custom WordPress website for a K–12 school district serving students and families in Sheridan, in western Yamhill County, Oregon.
More than 700 students attend Sheridan School District’s two schools in Sheridan, a small town in Yamhill County, Oregon, southwest of McMinnville. They start at Faulconer-Chapman School, from kindergarten through eighth grade, and go on to Sheridan High School for grades nine through twelve. Both schools keep a modified four-day week. Sheridan School District also sponsors Sheridan Allprep Academy, a public online charter school. The district works closely with many partners around Sheridan to serve the needs of their students and families, and as educators, they teach their students academics as well as how to be contributing members of the community.
Website Design
On every page of Sheridan School District’s website, we placed a row of icons below the header that leads families to everyday needs like transportation, school meals, and weather closures, and parents can find each school’s page in the Our Schools menu. The district calendar shows everything from volleyball games to school board meetings, and it updates on its own from the district’s Google calendars. The custom blocks we built into their WordPress theme let district staff edit any page, and the news they post shows up in the Headlines on the home page.
Website Hosting & Maintenance
We run the server behind Sheridan School District’s website, including its 24/7 monitoring and monthly backups, and we apply software updates to protect the site. District staff can reach us about anything on their website.
