About Abide Web Design

Two friends, one studio, building websites in Oregon since 2012.

Josh Armentano and David Weidenbacher design and build custom WordPress and WooCommerce websites for businesses, nonprofits, public agencies, and churches across Oregon. You get the two of us on every project, and we stay with our clients long after launch.

In short

Josh Armentano founded Abide Web Design in Corvallis, Oregon, in 2012, and David Weidenbacher joined him as Creative Director in 2020. The studio designs and builds custom websites on WordPress and WooCommerce for organizations across Oregon, from school districts to small businesses, and hosts and maintains many of the sites it builds.

How we work

Four things that shape every project.

Long-term partnerships

We build your site, and then we keep working with you on it. Many of our clients have been with us for five years or more. If you host with us, we update your site over the years and build on it as your organization grows. After years together, we know your site and your people well, and that is what makes the work good.

You work with us directly

When you call (541) 224-5048, you reach Josh or David. We do all of the design and development, and we answer our own phone and email. Our client list is short enough that whoever picks up already knows your site.

Custom-built for your organization

Every site we make is custom, designed around your organization and the people it serves. We write the theme in PHP, on WordPress's native templating, with custom editing blocks built for the content your team publishes. Your visitors get pages that open quickly, your team gets a site that is easy to update, and the whole of it is unmistakably your organization's.

Unhurried craft

We keep the studio small on purpose, so that each project moves at a steady pace, with time to get the design and the code right. The site we launch is one we stand behind, and one that is easy for your visitors to use.

Our story

Abide began with a name, a calling, and a church plant.

In 2012, Josh Armentano founded Abide Web Design in Corvallis, Oregon, alongside his work as a bi-vocational pastor at The Branch — a young church plant in the same neighborhood. The studio's name reflects the same conviction that shaped the church: a call to abide in something larger than the work itself. To create with care. To stay with clients rather than churn through them. To make beautiful things — websites, identities, communications — that reflect, in some small way, the creative beauty of the God we believe in.

We build sites we'll be proud to look at in five years, for clients we expect to be working with then.

That conviction became the way we run the studio. We take on only as many clients as we can serve well, we do the work ourselves, and we would rather see a client's site through the years ahead than move on to the next sale. Many of our clients have been with us for five years or more, and the sites we built for them are ones we still look after and are proud of.

In 2020, David Weidenbacher joined Josh as a partner. David brought years of multidisciplinary design experience and a calm, considered eye for typography, color, and brand. Their friendship and complementary skill sets created the natural shape Abide has had ever since: Josh leading development, David leading visual identity and design.

Today, Abide is still just Josh and David, Josh in Corvallis and David in Iowa, both working directly with every client and still building things we believe in. The work has grown over the years. We have been trusted with the websites of public school districts and statewide trade associations, of an athletic supplier whose guard is worn by MLB players, and of a Corvallis farm with a family of food brands. How we work has not changed, and each project gets the thought it needs.

Frequently asked questions

About Abide.

Yes, only Josh and David. When one of us is away, the other picks up the phone and handles any urgent work. We monitor the sites we host 24/7, so we hear about a problem even when neither of us is at a desk. We plan vacations and long trips ahead of time so clients are not caught off guard. Our size is part of how we keep relationships strong and quality high.

"Abide" reflects a conviction that shaped the studio from day one: to remain with something, to dwell, to stay. Josh founded Abide alongside his work as a pastor at The Branch — a young church plant in Corvallis — and the name reflects the same call to stay rooted in something larger than the work itself. Practically, it shapes how we do business: we abide with clients rather than churn through them.

Yes, and not in a complicated way. Both partners are Christians. The studio was founded alongside Josh's work as a pastor at The Branch in Corvallis, and we work with a number of churches and faith-based organizations. That said, we work with all kinds of organizations — public agencies, nonprofits, businesses, schools — regardless of their religious affiliation. Our faith shapes how we work (carefully, honestly, with long-term commitment), not who we'll work with.

Josh lives in Corvallis, Oregon, where the studio is based. A few years ago, David moved back home to Iowa with his family, and he comes back to Oregon a few times a year to work and to visit. Our clients are spread across Oregon, from Corvallis, Albany, and Salem to McMinnville, West Linn, Douglas County, and Lincoln County, and we have also worked with clients in Texas, California, Iowa, New York, and Virginia.

Both. Most of our work happens remotely, which keeps our costs down. Josh meets clients in person around Corvallis and the Willamette Valley when it helps, and David joins by video, or in person on his visits to Oregon. For school districts and public agencies, where a board or a committee reviews the design, meeting in person at the key milestones is often worth the trip.

It means we expect to work with you for years. Many of our clients have been with us for five years or more. For a site we host, that includes updates as WordPress and the web change, and new pages or features when you need them. The relationship does not end at launch, and often that is when the most meaningful work begins.

We are two people, and we plan to stay that way. You work with Josh and David from the first call through launch and for the years after, and if we host your site, the people who built it are the ones who maintain it and add to it later. Being this small means our calendar fills, so when we talk we will tell you whether our size and our schedule fit what your organization needs.

Yes. We accept clients from anywhere in the United States. Most of our clients are in Oregon, and we have also built websites for a church in Texas, a renovation contractor in Iowa, and a community association in Virginia. If the project matches what we do well, we welcome the conversation, wherever you are.
