Corvallis School District
WordPress websites we designed, built, and host for the public K–12 school district in Corvallis, Oregon, and for each of the schools it runs.
Corvallis School District, or CSD 509J, serves students and their families in Corvallis and nearby parts of Benton County, from their elementary schools through Corvallis High School and Crescent Valley High School. Alongside their schools, they offer alternative programs and career and technical education, and their community partners include Oregon State University and Linn-Benton Community College. Their vision statement reads, “Building trust, inclusivity, and engagement through culturally relevant, real-world learning experiences.”
Website Design
Corvallis School District has been one of our favorite clients for more than ten years. Together with their communications coordinator, we guided the design of the district website and built the custom WordPress theme it runs on, with its resources organized in menus for families, the community, and staff. We built the websites for their schools as well, and they share a theme we made for the district. The colors change from school to school, and every site still clearly belongs with the others. Posting announcements and events and editing their pages is painless for their communications team, and when a bigger change comes up, we take it on with them.
Website Hosting & Maintenance
Corvallis School District’s website and all of their school websites live on our servers, and we help their staff with whatever comes up on any of them. Every one of those sites is covered by our 24/7 monitoring, backed up monthly, and kept current as new versions of WordPress and each site’s plugins come out. Each school’s website gets the same care as the district’s.
Logo Design & Branding
For Corvallis School District’s logo, we designed a traditional seal, with the district’s name and “Oregon” circling a shield that holds a globe, an open book, and a river winding past evergreens. Their name sits beside it in a simple sans-serif, and the logo is as much at home in white, in the header of their website, as it is in the district’s blue.

Over the past two years, Abide Web Design has provided strategic guidance on website design and the development of our website as a communication hub for the district. They worked directly with our communications coordinator in development and design, and he created a user-friendly system that non-technical staff can maintain. That has been a crucial aspect of keeping our website up-to-date. Additional, they have been responsive to our needs and easy to work with.
