Oregon Dairy Women (ODW) is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization founded in 1955 with a singular mission: promote Oregon’s dairy industry through education, scholarships, community outreach, and the next generation of dairy advocates. Headquartered in Albany, Oregon, ODW operates four core programs — the Dairy Princess Ambassador program (placing young women as ambassadors at fairs and community events across Oregon), an annual scholarship program for students pursuing dairy science, agriculture, and nutrition careers, statewide events and outreach including the Oregon State Fair and county events, and free educational resources for classroom teachers, students, and families. After more than seven decades of work, ODW has become one of Oregon’s most enduring agricultural nonprofits and a meaningful voice in the state’s dairy community.

The Solution

Website Design

We redesigned and rebuilt the Oregon Dairy Women website with a specific strategic goal: elevate the organization’s digital presence to engage the next generation of dairy women in Oregon. The previous site served ODW’s existing supporters and dairy families well, but it didn’t speak naturally to the younger audiences — high school and college students considering agricultural careers, young dairy families joining the community, and educators bringing dairy education into the classroom — who represent ODW’s future. The redesign tackles that directly. We built a custom WordPress site with a modern, visually rich design that puts ODW’s people and programs front and center, organized around the four core program areas (Dairy Princess Ambassador, Scholarship, Events & Outreach, Educational Resources) so that visitors can quickly find their way to the part of ODW that’s relevant to them. The site preserves ODW’s heritage (founded 1955, championing Oregon dairy families) while signaling that the organization is alive, active, and welcoming to a new generation. Content is structured to be easily maintained by ODW’s volunteer leadership, ensuring the site can grow with the organization rather than ossifying after launch.

Website Hosting and Maintanance

We host oregondairywomen.com on managed WordPress infrastructure tuned for a volunteer-run nonprofit that doesn’t have technical staff. The hosting plan includes performance optimization (caching, image optimization, CDN integration), daily backups, security hardening (firewall, malware scanning, timely WordPress and plugin updates), 24/7 monitoring, and direct support from our team when ODW’s volunteer leadership needs help. The arrangement means ODW’s all-volunteer team can focus on what they do best — promoting Oregon’s dairy industry, running events, supporting Oregon dairy families — without having to think about WordPress updates, security patches, or hosting infrastructure. When something needs to be added, updated, or changed, they reach out, and we handle it.
