A custom WordPress website and brand identity for a kitchen and bathroom renovation contractor serving Iowa's Cedar Valley.
Nelson Home Renovation is a kitchen and bathroom renovation contractor serving Cedar Falls, Waterloo, and the smaller Cedar Valley towns of Janesville, Denver, Dike, Hudson, and Waverly. Owner and lead contractor Kyle Nelson fell in love with home repair and renovation in college, while building houses in Mount Vernon, Iowa. Over the years, he and his wife Katie renovated four family homes in the Cedar Valley and in Corvallis, Oregon, while they served in full-time campus ministry. Their love for renovation became full-time work when Kyle founded Nelson Home Repair, a general maintenance and remodeling business. As requests for kitchens and bathrooms kept coming in from customers and fellow contractors, Nelson Home Repair became Nelson Home Renovation. Kyle’s sister, Deanna Hoffmann, joined the team as office manager in 2024.
Website Design
We designed and built a custom WordPress theme for Nelson Home Renovation to showcase the excellent work they do for their clients. The theme utilizes a custom page builder that makes content editing painless, so they can quickly load a new project to the site without having to worry about designing a new page or remembering how a complicated page builder works. Visitors can browse the kitchen and bathroom projects separately, and each project has its own page with the scope of work, photos of the finished space, and the story behind it. We also built a pricing page with their starting prices, to give homeowners a sense of what their project might cost before they reach out. The new site elevates their online presence to match the quality of their work.
Website Hosting & Maintenance
We host and maintain Nelson Home Renovation’s website, and when they need help, they can come straight to us. We keep the site fast and secure and take care of WordPress and plugin updates, which leaves them free to focus on their customers.
Logo Design & Branding
We designed Nelson Home Renovation’s logo in 2024, when the business was still Nelson Home Repair. The mark is a simple monogram — the initials N, H, and R above a small house — and back then it sat inside a round black badge. When they narrowed their focus to kitchens and bathrooms and took their new name, the initials still fit, and they were able to keep the monogram rather than start over. For their new website, we kept the colors just as simple as the mark, with near-black type, an off-white background, and a single red for buttons, links, and accents.
