League of Women Voters Corvallis
WordPress website design and hosting for a nonpartisan civic organization that serves voters in Corvallis and across Benton County, Oregon.
The League of Women Voters of Corvallis works to increase understanding of major public policy issues and influences public policy through education and advocacy. Much of that work happens in committees such as Housing and Community Planning, and they give testimony to the Corvallis City Council and to Benton County on issues where they have adopted a position. They are nonpartisan and never endorse or oppose political parties or candidates, and before elections they host forums where voters can hear from the people running for local office. Anyone 16 or older can become a member, and every member also belongs to the League of Women Voters of Oregon and of the United States. Members can join a committee, or start a new one, to work on an issue that matters to them.
Website Design
Our WordPress redesign of the League of Women Voters of Corvallis website centers on their events calendar, so people across Benton County can find the League’s candidate forums, public programs, and socials. The committee pages describe the important work the League does on issues like housing and show when each committee meets next. Neighbors who speak Spanish, Arabic, Chinese, and more can read the site in the language they know best, using the Translate menu on each page. We tailored the design for the older generations who are part of the League, to give them a site they can enjoy.
Website Hosting & Maintenance
Volunteers keep the League of Women Voters of Corvallis website filled with events, news, and testimony, and we’re the ones who host it. We make a fresh backup of the site each month, and 24/7 monitoring keeps tabs on it. We help them fix any problem they run into.
