Salem Contractors Exchange
A custom WordPress website helping the members of a contractors exchange in Salem, Oregon, find construction projects to bid on.
Established in 1950, Salem Contractors Exchange gathers plans and specifications for public and private commercial projects across Oregon and Southwest Washington at their plan center in Salem, where their member companies can look them over. They print specification and blueprint copies, send out a weekly newsletter, and offer continuing education and safety classes. Each month, they bring their members together at a Building Partners event, and every year they hold a membership barbecue, an awards banquet, and a toy drive for the Salvation Army.
Website Design
In 2023, we began building a WordPress website for Salem Contractors Exchange and their members, and we are still adding to it today. Members who sign in see which projects have new addenda or plan holders that day, and they can pick what their daily email covers. Those with full online access can view a project’s plans and specifications without a trip to the plan center.
The Exchange’s staff do a great deal for their members, and we built tools into the site to make some of that work easier. They can put together the weekly newsletter from the projects already on the site, and when they update a project, a single button sends the news to every member who has added it to My Projects.
Website Hosting & Maintenance
Salem Contractors Exchange’s members browse projects on a website we built and host on one of our own servers. We take a backup of it every month and keep it monitored 24/7. The staff at the Exchange have no hosting company to find and no server to manage.
